FAQ
We figure you have questions about the program, so we compiled the questions most asked by our players and their parents
Q: What kind of training does Pro Style Baseball Training provide?
A: PSBT provides player development one on one training, Small group sessions (4 players per session) as well as Team Training Clinics.
Q: Where will the training sessions take place?
A: For defensive training especially, it's preferred that sessions be held on a field. Ideally, on the field your son or daughter plays on if possible. However, PSBT does have access to an indoor sports facility (for Southern California students), that accommodates both hitting and fielding instruction, should weather become an issue, or becomes the player's preference.
Q: How do I get started with the program?
A: It's fun and free! For the first session, PSBT provides a free half-hour player assessment that new students always find fun. Following the assessment, I will sit down with you and your ball player to learn what player goal(s) they would like to set for themselves for the season. Taking their input and yours, a custom program will be tailored to accomplish those goals.
Q: What does a baseball personal trainer do?
A: Well, it depends who you go with. I focus on building player confidence by giving the student obtainable goals where they can noticeably see improvements in their hitting, bunting, catching, running, throwing and endurance.
Q: What should players bring with them to training sessions?
A: PSBT students are expected to show up to practice ready to go, and dressed in game day apparel with all needed equipment. If shorts and tennis shoes are worn, the player will be sent home and billed for the full session. The next time, the student will be doing sliding drills. No one has been foolish enough to test if I was kidding. Please don't be the first.
Q: What age and skill level are your sessions geared for?
A: PSBT sessions are great for T-ball players, all the way up to High School Varsity (softball included). All PSBT sessions are tailored to meet the needs and intellect of any age group or skill level however.
Q: Are you exclusive to baseball or will you train softball players?
A: PSBT is happy to instruct both Baseball and Softball players of any age group and skill level.
Q: How often should we expect to train with you?
A: We typically work with players who have game and practice schedules to balance. So, to avoid player burnout or injury, we recommend a one, two-hour training session a week being enough. On the otherhand, off season training, or getting ready for Little League or High School Try-outs would be good reason to increase the number of sessions per week.
